Not many people know the depth of what I’ve lived through. One of the hardest chapters of my life was losing my boys ~ not to a system, but to someone I once loved, their dad. It shattered me, them and the whole ecosystem that was meant to hold us.
I’m not ready to tell that story in full (yet). I’m still healing, still learning, still doing the work ~ shoutout to my psychologist, who is honestly the bomb.
But here’s what I do want to share right now: trauma changes your brain. PTSD is wild and complex ~ a fascinating web of science, survival instincts and protective wiring. It explains so much about how we respond, how we shut down, or how we fight our way through.
And it reminds me of one very simple truth: you never know what another human is carrying.
So be gentle. With others and with yourself. We’re all navigating storms we don’t post about. Sometimes kindness isn’t just nice ~ it’s medicine ♡
Love Rain xx
